Converting Simplified Chinese to Traditional Chinese is a common publishing task: a Mainland draft needs a Taiwan edition, or a product UI needs a Hong Kong string file. The reliable method is a dictionary-based converter plus a human pass, not a word processor's find-and-replace.
Pick the target
Traditional Chinese is not one list.
- Taiwan readers expect Taiwan character choices and often Taiwan vocabulary.
- Hong Kong readers expect Hong Kong character choices and Cantonese-influenced written forms in some texts.
ChineseDocConverter exposes OpenCC types such as Simplified to Traditional, Simplified to Traditional (Taiwan), Taiwan with phrases, and Simplified to Traditional (Hong Kong). See OpenCC conversion types.
Text or document
Paste a paragraph into the text converter. Upload Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF or TXT to the document converter.
Afterward
Check personal names, place names and one-to-many characters. Why one Simplified character can have several Traditional forms explains the usual traps. Then proofread.
