A slide deck is a set of boxes, not one flowing manuscript. If you convert Chinese in a separate editor and paste it back, text often overflows the shape or loses the original font size. Converting the .pptx file is meant to change characters inside those shapes.

Layout still needs a glance
Traditional characters are often denser than Simplified ones. A title that fit on one line in 简体 may wrap in 繁體. That is not a broken file. It is a reason to scan title slides after conversion.
Fonts on slides
If the deck uses a font without Traditional glyphs, converted text may show empty boxes. Switch to a Unicode font that covers both sets. See Chinese fonts and Unicode.
